This VR experience presents a digital twin of Ericsson's Kista Innovation Park (KIP) in Sweden with the goal of connecting multiple innovation labs globally that allows remote interaction with each lab's smart sensors. This initiative began in collaboration with Ericsson's innovation lab in Zagreb, Croatia, and is currently progressing with Ericsson Lindholmen.
The project offers a blend of hardware and software, merging physical and digital elements through Virtual Reality (VR) and Internet of Things (IoT) sensors🔥
I played the role of the Ericsson Sweden representative, responsible for creating the digital twin model, deploying the sensors, and integrating Unity with the IoT software and hardware.
As of now, this project is featured as a public demonstration at Ericsson's Kista Innovation Park (KIP), showcasing our progress and innovations.
Digital Twin Model
I built a 3D digital twin of our innovation lab in Sweden using Unity, mixing free assets and my own creations. One prominent feature is being able to teleport from one lab location to the other and interact with their respective smart sensors. So the main goal was to offer people an immersive experience, making them feel like they're actually in our workspace.
Managers and colleagues have praised it for being "super detailed and spot-on, giving them a sneak peek of what to expect when they visit in person"⭐

IoT: Smart Sensors Integration
I partnered with the Ericsson Innovation Lab in Zagreb, Croatia, to integrate smart sensors into our physical workspace, including smart plugs, motion sensors, and air quality sensors. These sensors are all connected to an online dashboard, allowing us to remotely interact with them and visualize their data.
What's even more exciting is that these sensors can be controlled from our VR scene, regardless of your physical location!
This innovation sets the stage for the idea of linking numerous Ericsson Innovation Labs worldwide😄🌐

Public Exhibitions
Our project has been prominently featured in multiple public exhibitions at Kista Innovation Park (KIP) and Ericsson’s XR Day 2023. Overall, I've presented the project to more than 600+ stakeholders!

One of the best things about this internship project is that it gave me the opportunity to meet, interact, and showcase my work to various stakeholders. It provided an excellent platform for honing my presentation and storytelling abilities, while also providing me the opportunity to collaborate with team members from various backgrounds and expertise, including developers and engineers🤩
